Alfalfa*

Alfalfa is known to be a powerful herb that contains vitamins A, B1, B6, B12, C, E, K, niacin, pantothenic acid, biotin, folic acid, and many essential amino acids.

Allantoin*

An emollient that moisturizers and softens skin by keeping water in the skin. Allantoin has been known to reduce irritation and redness, condition damaged skin and assist in regeneration of the outer layer of cells, the epidermis.

Amino Acids* (Alanine, Arginine, Aspartate, Glutamine, Glycine, Proline)

All of the amino acids are building blocks of proteins. Proteins are essential components of all cells, including skin cells. Amino acids assist in protecting the skin and may help it to recover after damage.

Carotenoids*

Antioxidants that are found in fruits and vegetables. They also provide photo-protection for the skin. 

Citric Acid

A potent antioxidant, citric acid may help protect skin from UV damage, increasing the thickness of the protective layer of the skin. The amount in Liquid Skin Salve does not cause a chemical peel.

Distilled Water*

Moisturizes the skin, so long as it is mixed with other agents to help it penetrate into dried up skin cells. Water alone is not able to restore the natural moisture balance of skin because of the complex mechanism of interaction between water and skin cells. But, in the proper combination with other ingredients in Liquid Skin Salve the moisture can be restored.

Essential Amino Acids* (Isoleucine, Leucine, Lysine, Methionine, Phenylalanine, Threonine, Valine)

These amino acids cannot be made by the body, yet are needed to make proteins. For example, threonine is essential for collagen production, which has been known to reduce the appearance of fine lines in the skin.

Humate*, Humic Acid, Hydroxyacetophenone*, Indigotin, Lipids*, Potassium Sorbate*, Wax Esters

Each are individual components of the Liquid Skin Salve formula that only work when used in conjunction with other formula components.

Hyaluronic Acid*

Surrounds the skin cells with water and lipids, making it easier for the epidermis to hold water, and moisturizes the skin.

Isopropanol

Assists water absorption through the skin, thanks to the delicate balance with the other components in Liquid Skin Salve.

Kelp*

A type of seaweed filled with skin nourishing elements that include iodine, calcium, iron, potassium, vitamin B1, B2, B12 and polysaccharides.

Proprietary Blend of Essential Oils & Phthalate-free Fragrances

Used to provide a light and pleasant aroma to the products. Essential oils are derived naturally from plants, seeds, roots and citrus peels through steam distillation and cold-pressed extraction methods. Phthalate-free fragrances are made in a lab to mimic aromas in nature that we cannot extract naturally or are too cost prohibitive for use. We do not use any phthalates in our blends. 

Vegetable Glycerin*

A humectant that attracts water vapor out of the air and deposits water into the skin. Strengthens the skin while improving the barrier of the outer layer of the skin, known as the epidermis. It is also known to prevent dry, scaly, irritated skin.

Vitamin B2 (Riboflavin)*

B2 is an antioxidant that is involved in natural mucus secretion that keeps skin moistened. Lack of B2 can lead to itching and peeling of the skin.

Vitamin B5 (Panthenol)*

Derivatives are used in skin creams to aid in skin dryness.

Vitamin B6 (Pyridoxine)*

An antioxidant that may be beneficial for skin protection from ultraviolet radiation (UV light).

Vitamin C

A potent antioxidant, Vitamin C may help protect skin from UV damage.

Provides hydration to the outermost layer of the skin, the epidermis. The amount of urea in Liquid Skin Salve will not dissolve the surface layer of the skin, like keratolytic creams and will not dissolve keratin.
